Peacemaking -- a timeless expression, perhaps never more timely than today.
The programming found on this site has developed over the last ten years as
ordinary people have chosen to do the extraordinary work of making a difference in their
world. This proactive approach has been successful because it has been
responsive to the needs of the individual and community rather than reactive to the
temptations of a quick fix. Each of the programs focus on four concepts of
peace - Peace for Me, Peace for Us, Peace for Everyone, and Peace for the Planet - and
each engages the children and their families through interactive experiential learning.
The positive life skills demonstrated through the programs cause an
empowerment which liberates the gifts and abilities of the individuals and the
communities which they serve.

The founder of the programming on this site is Kelly Guinan, a creative, energetic
visionary whose passion is peacemaking. She lives in rural Nebraska with her
husband and children and is available for a limited number of motivational workshops.
By creating and implementing local expressions of each new program, she and
a host of volunteers have been able to establish effective templates which are then
replicated all across the globe.

Founder Kelly Guinan teaches "Peace for Me" using a PeaceMobile exhibit at a
Children's Peace Festival.
|
Each manifestation:
- Young Peacemakers Club
- a place where children come together in a sense of belonging to
learn peacemaking skills
- PeaceMobile
- a traveling children's peace museum
- Kindness Campaign
- an intentional focus on being kind as a peace behavior
- Children's Peace Festival
- a peace party and hoopla event
- Building Bridges
- a conflict resolution training system
may function on their own, but when used together complement each other
and reinforce the skill base and philosophy of peacemaking.
By focusing on creating resources rather than an entity, a grassroots global network has been empowered, sharing the message throughout the world. Many individuals and diverse groups are now practicing the art of peacemaking and
have incorporated the lessons into existing organizations using the approach for
prevention as well as intervention. The programs have recently been designated
by UNESCO (United Nation's Educational, Scientific, & Cultural Organization)
as part of the International Decade of the Global Movement for a Culture of Peace.
